Btx Energy GmbH introduced its first Biogas to Hydrogen- container unit in October 2022.

It enables a regional, decentralized production of green hydrogen from sustainable biogas sources (mainly manure).

The container unit was especially fitted for the deployment on agricultural farms and facilitates the extension of existing plants.

Currently, the generated hydrogen (through steam-reforming) shall supply the transport sector.

Ultimately, the container will be set up on a dairy farm in Krefeld, Germany.

BioH2Ref- as the project is called- was supported by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and will be supervised on a scientific scale by the RWTH Aachen (Technical University).
